WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

Six things we commit to, in writing.

You are never charged a fee

Not now, not at offer, not ever. We are an employer fee paid agency: the hiring company pays us. Anyone in this market asking a candidate for money is doing something you should walk away from.

Nothing is sent without your say-so

Your resume does not reach a company until you have told us to send it, and you always know which company and which role. No spraying, no surprises, no finding out you were submitted somewhere twice.

We will not ask what you currently earn

New York law bans it and we think the ban is right. We ask what you are looking for and take that to the market.

Work authorization, asked once and properly

Two questions: are you authorized to work in the US, and would you need sponsorship. We never ask for a passport, a green card or any other document. That is between you and your employer at hire, on Form I-9.

You talk to the people who run the desk

The person who takes your call is the person who speaks to the hiring manager. No handoffs to a junior team, and a straight answer when a role is not right for you.

Senior-led, on Eastern time

Calls, interviews and offers inside your working day. Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Eastern.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions people ask before registering

Straight answers on cost, confidentiality, work authorization and what we actually cover.

Does it cost me anything?

No, and it never will. The employer pays our fee. Under New York law an employment agency of our kind is employer fee paid, and we would not work any other way.

What happens after I send my resume?

A specialist reads it and calls you. We agree what you are looking for and which companies you want to be in front of before anything is sent. Nothing goes to a client without your agreement.

What roles do you cover?

Cyber security only, and permanent direct-hire roles only, in the New York metro area. Security leadership, engineering, architecture, security operations, application and product security, identity, governance and risk, and offensive security. If you are looking for contract or consulting work we are not the right firm for you and we will say so rather than waste your time.

Will you ask me what I earn now?

No. New York State and New York City ban salary history questions, and we do not want the number anyway. Tell us the base salary and package you are looking for and that is what we take to the market.

I need visa sponsorship. Is that a problem?

It is a question, not a problem. We ask whether you are authorized to work in the United States and whether you would need sponsorship now or in the future, because some employers sponsor and some do not. We will only put you to companies who do. We never ask to see a passport or any immigration document: employment eligibility is verified by your employer on Form I-9 after you are hired, not by us.

Do you handle roles that need a security clearance?

Yes, where you already hold an active US clearance. A federal clearance is sponsored by the employer holding the facility clearance and generally requires US citizenship, so it is not something we or you can obtain for a role. If you hold one, tell us and we will treat it confidentially.

How is my information looked after?

It is held in our own system, used only to represent you, and never sold or passed to a third party. You can ask us to update or delete your details at any time and we will do it. Full detail is in our privacy policy.

Are you a US company?

We are a UK company, Invitise Ltd, running a New York desk on Eastern time. Twenty years placing security professionals, ISO 9001 certified and Cyber Essentials certified, and the same senior people on both sides of the Atlantic.
